Commanders to Contenders; Necessary Changes The Commanders Need To Make
The Eagle’s game was a sad end to a dream season for the Commanders. This entire season was insane as the Commanders shocked everyone again and again. There are some important questions that the Commanders front office needs to be asking. Most importantly, what are their next steps and how do they turn into true contenders? I’m going to be looking at how they can step up their defense and offense to compete at the highest level.
The most important thing for the Commanders this offseason is improving their D-Line since this year they got torn up by the run game. One of the best picks to help with this is to try and get Nic Scourton, he's a NFL ready edge rusher who’s super versatile. His numbers did drop a bit this season for the Aggies but the potential is unmatched. All he needs is to get a bit better at learning how to deal with double teams and show some improvement in pass-rushing.
One of the main things that the Commanders need to get for their offense is a wide receiver to go with Scary Terry. One of the best options is Tee Higgins. He is going to be a top free agent and would bring experience and talent to their wide receiver core. There are multiple options in the draft such as Elic Ayomanor, Luther Burden III, and Emeka Egbuka. These all are great wide receivers but the one I’m going to be talking about is Elic. He is the most versatile wide receiver out of the three and is a good addition to any wide receiver room. I think if they can combine him, Tee Higgins, and Scary Terry it will create a lethal offense that could turn them into true contenders.
