Maturity is All That Matters; Edwards Total Loss Is Up To $285,000 for Inappropriate Gestures
The 23 year old phenom in Minnesota can’t seem to maintain self-control during basketball games. Even though Anthony Edwards is making huge impacts on the court, his decisions are starting to become costly. Ant-Man (A nickname given to Edwards based off Avengers superhero) has started making inappropriate gestures towards the officiating staff at NBA games. On Monday, he received a $50,000 penalty for his behavior at the prime-time game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. Before that he was fined $35,000 for the game against Sacramento on Nov. 5, 2024. His frequent lack of maturity this season has cost him 285k and counting this season.
“It's clear that the education and maturity of Anthony Edwards continues to be a work in progress,” said Minnesota’s head coach Mike Finch. Anthony Edwards was fined three different times during the month of December.
This two time all-star has been fined $200,000 alone for his abusive use of prolific language while in interviews with the press.
“It's the only other thing I do the most other than play basketball. I'm in love with the video game,” Anthony Edwards said about the 8 year old game Fortnite. Edward’s addiction to the third person shooter, battle royale game is another example of his lack of maturity. Anthony constantly spends time grinding out games instead of spending time working at the gym. Yes, Anthony is incredibly athletic naturally, but if he hit the gym slightly more, I think his proficiency will rise.
Edwards continues to bring his own brand and style to the game of basketball. “Don’t let me get to 6-6 or I’ll be Michael Jordan,” said Edwards. However with great power comes great responsibility, and Edwards has power, but his maturity is still growing. Hopefully this star can pull his act together.
