Recent Fixtures Review #2
Barcelona VS Benfica:
After a dominant run in the champions league including 5 wins and one loss to Lille, Barca almost fell to the Portuguese giants in one of the best games we have seen this year. The game got off on the wrong foot for Barca who went 1-0 down after a brilliant strike from Pavlidis who had a hatrick on the day. The Catalan giants earned a penalty after their player was taken down in the box, and Robert Lewandowski converted to make it 1-1. Pavlidis scored yet again to make it 2-1, and scored again in quick succession off a penalty to cap off his hat trick and make the score 3-1. Down and out, Barca earned another penalty after a foul on Lamine Yamal and Lewandowski converted from the spot. Barca then scored off a goalkeeper mistake and the ball bounced off Raphina’s head and into the goal. Benfica scored again off a Ronald Arajuo to make the score 4-3 and Eric Garcia scored to set off celebrations to make it 4-4 in the 86th. After a challenge in the box, Barca set off a counterattack and Raphina cut in and finished to win the game and complete the comeback. Overall, one of the best games of the year that captures the spirit of football.
Feyenoord VS Bayern Munich
In this fixture, Dutch giants Feyenoord faced German goliaths Bayern Munich in what was thought to be an easy win for the German club. However, that was not the case as the final score turned out to be 3-0 Feyenoord. Santiago Gimenez set off the flames in the 21st minute to make the score 1-0. Bayern was playing unlike their usual dominating style and conceded yet another point to the Dutch side after a penalty in the 45 '+9’ to make it 2-0. Feyenoord put salt in the wound and scored in the 89th to make it 3-0 and Sven Ulreich got sent off in the last minute to fan the flames off writers like me. Overall, a shocking upset putting Bayern in an interesting position and making it look like the new form of standings in the Champions League may be one to stay.
Man City VS PSG:
In a crucial fixture for both sides of the coin, another big loss puts Pep Guardiola and his men lose a fixture that deepens the pit of doom that currently envelopes the champions. The game started off on the right foot, with them scoring two after Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish both scored to make it 2-0. Ousmane Dembele scored in the 56th to make it 2-1 and Bradley Barcola scored to tie it at 2-2. City then capitulated conceding two from Joao Neves and Goncalo Ramos to cap the humiliation at 4-2. Overall, another stinker for the decorated Spanish manager. We hope to see the treble winning City in the future, but we are most definitely not currently.

January 30, 2025For Barca vs Benfica its a little repetitive how you say Robert Lewandowski converted to make it 1-1. Then Pavlids scored again and you kind of repeat that alot.
